The model RSC is a completely assembled and pre-piped Roll Stand Control System. It is used primarily to attach directly (outboard) to an existing shiftable unwind and/or rewind roll stand. It automatically positions a roll of material to a predetermined point based on the location of the edge sensor.
Our standard RSC unit is powered either by a P60 or P80 series cylinder. The cylinder’s smooth but powerful thrust is transferred to a carrier block mounted on 1” race rods and linear bearings. A threaded rod with two stainless steel spherical bearings is used to make a ridged connection between the carrier block and the intended stand. All RSC assemblies come with our standard Auto-Center assembly allowing the system to be put into “servo center” during start up. Clean service is provided via a two-stage cartridge/coalescing air filter to keep the system performing in tip-top shape. Electric Manual /Automatic is available for an extra charge.
This compact guiding system is ideally suited for new machines as well as retrofits (upgrade) on older machines. The model P60 is a 6” diameter air cylinder, which at 8 psi is capable of shifting a total weight (roll + Stand) of 2,500 lbs (1,134) on linear bearings. Our model P80 is used for heavier loads up to 5,000 lbs. (2,272 Kg) total weight. Basic models come with either a 4” or 6” stroke cylinder.
