Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components for our web processing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for web processing equipment, including unwinds, rewinds, tension control systems, slitting systems, web guides, and rollers
  • Develop detailed design specifications, engineering drawings, and release job orders
  • Work closely with the controls vendor for the electrical/controls package to integrate mechanical and electrical systems
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure that designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements
  • Manage projects from concept through to final production, including factory acceptance testing
  • Support the manufacturing team during production, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Work directly with the customer or salesmen to create a design to meet the needs of the customer’s application
  • Guide junior engineers while managing customer deadlines
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure the proper equipment is quoted and purchased

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Design Engineer, preferably with machine design experience
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or similar 3D Modeling CAD software
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in designing mechanical components and systems for web processing equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques
    • Manual and CNC machining practices
    • Welding
    • Assembly/Hardware
  • Knowledge of specifying machining requirements
  • Willing to work in an office and interface with the shop floor as required
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Willing to travel when required (domestic and international)

Preferred Experience

  • Someone who has previously experienced in machinery design and/or automation
  • Hands-on experience in machining and/or assembly
  • Knowledge of Material Handling
  • Knowledge of FEA Analysis
