Many customers who have come to Coast Controls with their most demanding web guiding applications, have also used our custom idler rollers. After all, we’ve been making quality idlers as part of our web guide systems since 1992.

Aluminum Idlers
Today, we engineer aluminum idlers for a wide range of converting applications. Each roller is designed to meet the exact specifications of its intended use. These idlers provide exceptional performance over a wider range of applications while possessing nearly half the weight of steel. These lighter idlers are ideal for applications requiring lower web tensions and minimal web wrap.

• 6061-T6 aluminum tubing.
• dynamically balanced to customer’s spec’s.
• maximum taper: .0005”/ft
• OD & bore runout within .004”
• Maximum TIR: .003”
• Diameters 1.5” to 10”

Steel and Stainless Steel Idlers
Coast Controls routinely produces steel and stainless steel idlers. The same precision machining processes apply here – regardless of idler material or size.
